Problem
Among the main publications of the institute for statistics in Luxembourg (Statec) are industry reports, inflation reporting as well as key publications on the economic outlook and well-being in Luxembourg. The frequently toss around terms that non-statheads are not so familiar with and need explaining.
Solution
To make terms like GDP, inflation, indexation more clear to students, readers and the general public, we went ahead and created a series of explainer videos explaining the big terms that someone had to explain.
Workflow
Each year, we reset the visual mood and exchanged with the responsible department to get the messaging right. We then combined key numbers with a collage style to make the topics come alive. Deliverables included versions in French, English as well as short versions for social media.
