Problem
The childhood development app mo:mo from Hamburg, Germany was looking for a way to create a ton of education content, that parents want to consume. The challenge was creating a recognisable mascot and set of characters that would facilitate telling the story of how children grow in a playful way.
Solution
To find the right characters, we created a set of on-brand characters and explored different use scenarios. After an initial round of exploration, we settled on the "chubby buddies" and developed these characters further.
Workflow
After an initial strategic brainstorming sessions, we gathered ideas in the form of a moodboard. Based on the feedback received, we started drawing, illustrating and designing a set of key scenes. Finally, we created a character animation and some sample scenes and thumbnails.
